Zane Erwee Joins UD Trucks New Zealand

UD Trucks New Zealand has recently appointed a new Retail Sales Manager, Zane Erwee as the business focuses on growth. Joining the team in mid-2024. Zane’s role in new to UD Trucks and focuses on the growth of the UD Trucks retail business and leading the UD Truck Sales team operating in the North Island.

Zane has 17 years of industry experience both in New Zealand and South Africa. He also has significant experience with UD Trucks brand and product.

Colin Muir, UD Trucks General Manager confirms, “We are very pleased to welcome Zane to the UD Trucks team. His extensive experience and knowledge of the product will add immense value to our loyal customers and to the rest of the team.”

Zane confirms “I chose this role, not only because of my experience with UD Trucks, but because the product is fantastic. I can easily stand behind its capability and performance. UD is a brand that I am passionate about.”

He continues, “it’s important to me that drivers are able to go home to their families every day. The focus that UD has on driver safety is exceptional. It can make all the difference, whether a driver is on the highway or operating in Urban areas.”

Zane has a varied and comprehensive experience in the industry.

Starting his career in 2007 in South Africa, he has sold trucks and managed sales teams throughout. He has been a sales manager for both Fuso Trucks and Freightliner, and then moved to the South African UD Trucks dealership, under the Imperial group.

Zane relocated to New Zealand with his wife and two daughters in 2019 and worked for NZ Trucks. Most recently he has been working for a leasing company, managing truck and equipment maintenance, and aftersales.

Outside of work, Zane is focused on his family and enjoying both golf and following Formula 1 racing. Since being in New Zealand, he has started following rugby league and is getting to know the New Zealand outdoors as this is very different to the Safari experiences his family enjoyed in South Africa.
